Post Implementation Review

A large UK asset management appointed PARERE to carry out a detailed systems implementation review and to present our findings, opinions and recommendations to the senior executive committee.

Parere was engaged to carry out a thorough review of a multi-million vendor implementation project to help the client understand what went well and what lessons could be learnt from the issues and problems that were encountered and addressed along the way.

The exercise was conducted as follows: -

• Inspection of key project documents, provided to Parere by the client and the vendor.
• Interviews run by Parere with key stakeholders at the client;
• Interviews run by Parere with key participants at the vendor;
• A questionnaire on project commitments and delivery, completed by a majority of interviewees;
• Follow-up investigations and discussions.

Diagnosis was carried out independently by Parere consultants, and conclusions documented. These were then syndicated and validated with senior stakeholders. The results are presented in this report as lessons to be learned. A presentation was prepared and presented, based on this report, and was delivered to the client’s and vendor’s senior management teams

The client was very pleased with the level of detailed that the finding went into together with the mitigating recommendations to ensure that future similar projects do not fall foul of the same issues encountered. The client has subsequently implemented many of the recommendations made by PARERE as part of the overall investigation.
